What was "Operation Menu"? I read about it in a Chinese history book?

This was series of covert bombing operations conducted some 40 years ago in Cambodia in an effort to destroy multiple Communist Vietnamese military bases located in what was professed to be a neutral country. The bases in Cambodia were being used by the Communist Vietnamese to launch attacks upon the urban areas and civilians in South Vietnam.

This is clearly stated in the reference you have provided.
Thanks.
"Operation Menu" was Richard Nixon's secret bombing campaign against Cambodia during 1970. It was ostensibly designed to disrupt North Vietnamese troop movements, but its main result was the death of thousands of civilians.

America has always had a policy of "say one thing and do another". America claims to stand for human rights, democracy, blah, blah, bah . . . but America really stands for corporate profits, re-electing corrupt politicians, and keeping the general population in complete ignorance. What was "Operation Menu"? I read about it in a Chinese history book?
During the Viet Nam War, in which the communist North Vietnam invaded South Vietnam, the communist insurgents, aided by China and the Soviets were hiding in Cambodia and using it as a sanctuary with which to reign terror on innocent South Vietnamese.

The resulting bombing campaign reduced this safe haven. Cambodia's government had been friendly with China and made a grave mistake in thinking it could allow Chinese-supported soldiers to attack South Viet Nam from it borders.
