At an all you can eat buffet, do they have a separate "menu" for people like me who only want 1 item?

Going to a chinese buffet, but I'm veggie and fussy, only want rice. Will I still get charged the whole price for an all you can eat buffet? Or is there a separate kind of menu thing? Confused! At an all you can eat buffet, do they have a separate "menu" for people like me who only want 1 item?
No they'll charge you.

People like you are just good earners for them.

At any 'all you can eat' place, the food is produced very cheaply and they account for things by 'covers' meaning person who eats a meal. The restaurant would be losing money by having you come in and pay say 拢5 for a bowl of rice when they could have someone sit in the same seat at the same time and pay 拢20 for the buffet.
Why are you asking on here?!!

Asking the restuarant staff would be the best advice. At an all you can eat buffet, do they have a separate "menu" for people like me who only want 1 item?
don't get the buffet. order a side or 2 of rice.
Most buffet resturants do not have separate menus, but a few do.
why do you go in the first place cook the rice at home it will be cheaper
some do, most dont....call the place DUH
If all you want is rice I am sure they will do that for you for the normal price of a rice. Kinda defeats the object of going to all you can eat though!
Why would you even go to to it if you don't want to eat any of it? However, I'm sure that if you told the staff you only wanted a plate of rice and notheinf else, you would probably only be carged for that.
A good Chinese buffet restaurant would have sufficient selection of different dishes to allow you to only have items suitable for a vegetarian. They will tell you which are and you can pick those. mind you you are missing the best thing if they do a good crispy roast duck
You obviously don't have the restaurant's number.

Try yell.com
I can't believe someone just said to a veggie to try the duck!
they usually have a "normal menu" to order from and it would be much cheaper to buy from that rather than pay for the whole buffet menu, unless you go halfs with a friend, they have what they want and they get you a plate of veggie rice.
most places do but call ahead to be sure
depends on the restaurant,
Call or visit the restaurants web site.
I concur with SPARKLYTHINGS most restaurants still have the standard menu. We have Ryan's and for the longest I hated eating off buffets that is until I noticed my friends going back until they were full and I'm stuck with just a single entree dish.
most places that are buffet still have a separate menu for those dining that arent going to have the buffet. you may want to give the restaurant a call first and double check so you wont end up surprised
the one where i go doent but i dont know

the best thing to do is ask the people who work there

they might make an exeption for you if you ask kindly! lol!
tell the staff you dont want the buffet pay for 1 portion of rice
