What are some good choices on a Chinese menu?

i love chinese food at least what i get egg fu yung pepper steak orange chicken but i really don't venture off on the menu because of some of the names what are some very good options with no aquired taste please spicy is ok though. What are some good choices on a Chinese menu?
Kung Pao Chicken or Shrimp is spicy / on the hot side but very good.

House Fried Rice has shrimp, pork, chicken in it..... It's good. You can get house fried rice with just shrimp only if you want. Nice way of eating rice. Very tasty.

Lo Mein is a noodle dish. You can have chicken, pork, beef, or shrimp added to it. Or you can order a House Style Lo Mein which has a bit of everything in it.

Pad Thai is a sweet rice noodle stir fried with bean sprout, egg, chicken, and ground peanut. It's heavenly!

Sweet and Sour Chicken or Pork or Ribs is just that on the sweet side.

Honey Lemon Chicken is yummy.

Crispy Sezchwan Shrimp is spicy / on the hot side.

Barbecue Pork is good and comes with hot mustard and sesame seeds and is an appetizer.

I personally love Egg Rolls. Veg or other is fine with me.

Hope some of this has helped. You need to explore. Try a new item each time you go out to eat!

I'm going to make a suggestion. Go to a Buffet where you can try various dishes. That will give you an idea of what you will enjoy and what you won't.
General Tso's Chicken is good and goes with everything (fried rice, white rice, lo mein). My 5 year old loves it. I used to strictly get chicken w/broccoli w/white rice for years. Now I try something new every time and I have not disliked anything so far. What are some good choices on a Chinese menu?
I like Chicken Chop suey, and pork egg rolls, with white rice. It has a fair amount of chinese vegtables, chicken, and good ole white rice (obviously).
I'm addicted to Mongolian Beef. I try to order something else, but it's what I always get. It's beef saute in a garlic-y, slightly sweet/salty sauce with lots of green onions. It's not spicy at all.

I get this with some plain rice and I'm set.
Chinese people don;t eat that crap,

Any Chinese on here please tell them a true chinese diet in your country or look it up

And I'm not talking about eating rats or bugs,

isn;t pizza Chinese? Look that one up SHOCKER!!!

Hi,

You will probably wince at my answer, but research it yourself and find out the truth!

I was introduced to chinese foods over thirty years ago, and fell in love with it, it was spicy and the textures were brilliant.

It was so good I ate it very regularly, enjoying every minute of it.

Then the hammer fell, about 10 years ago I got diagnosed with diabetes, it was through the honesty of one particular doctor that I learned that the major cause of the diabetes was my love of chinese food.

How you may ask?

simply this, the food was perfectly okay, the problem is that most food outlets and especially chinese food places put a flavour enhancer in ALL their foods including the rice.

The flavour enhancer is called Monosodium Glutamate, and it certainly works, it enhances flavours very well, it could even make dirt taste good, but it comes with a penalty.

It belongs to a group of toxic chemicals called excitotoxins and prolonged use will create all sorts of diseases amongst which are Alzheimers, MS etc

To make it worse it is FDA approved and is used in lots of everyday foods so you are getting it from all sides and may not even be aware of it, look on ingredient lists for MSG, E621, Flavouring (with no further explaination), hydrolysed vegetable protein.

It is so dangerous that food companies hide its use in the foodstuff by calling it one of its many aliases or simply by Not mentioning it is in there at all, legally using the law that states if an additive is only 98% pure or less then it does not have to be included on the label.

So you can be slowly poisoned with 98% toxicity and not even be told you are ingesting the poison...

[Imagine walking up a road where bullets may be flying and the authorities have to put up a sign warning you about it, now applying the same rules, that if they shave off 2% of the bullets then they don't have to warn you about the danger at all, does that mean you will only get 98% dead?]

As people are becoming more aware of these toxins the food producers are responding to concern by advertisements stating things like "Contains no artificial flavours or colouring" or in some cases "contains no MSG"

Whilst this is a step in the right direction, they are starting to use different and less known enhancers.

Even if you don't research any of what I say, just consider the sharp rise in diseases like diabetes, autism, alzheimers, parkinsons... and then consider the proliferation of these excitotoxins in our daily foodstuffs.

By all means eat chinese foods or any other style you like but ensure that it is home made with authentic ingredients, it does NOT need flavour enhancers, I mean if you make it right with proper ingredients then the spices are the flavour and if its not enough add more spices, simple and safe.

Enjoy food, but why be poisoned whilst doing it just to increase someones profit margin?

Good Luck.
