Is your local Chinese Take-Away still authentic, or are there more "English" meals on the menu than Chinese...

After living in England all my life and loving nothing better than a Chinese Curry ...

I arrived in Singapore, my new home, 5 years ago.

Upon asking where on the menu I could find Chinese Curry I was greeted by bewilderment and recommended to go to a nearby Indian restaurant.

Doesnt exist ... I was mortified and felt wholly unworldly......Is your local Chinese Take-Away still authentic, or are there more "English" meals on the menu than Chinese...
its still authentic to their style.. and thats great..

=D
I think you'll find nearly all chinese take aways sell only "english" versions of their dishes any way. You never find a take away that sells you real chinese food, at least i've never seen one.Is your local Chinese Take-Away still authentic, or are there more "English" meals on the menu than Chinese...
ours only do jumbo sausage, omlettes and chips. Everything is chinese
Gladly they're authentic - if you want English stuff it's all on the back page! Why do people order English stuff from a chinese anyway! What's that all about!!!
In England it's hard to find a Chinese takeaway place that isn't mixed with a fish and chip shop. SHame really.
Its more Chinese, Cantonese and Malaysian.
Its still pretty Chinese... but l'm getting suspicious as not many Chinese people seem to work there....
It's not authentic but I like it the way it is
Authentic.I don' think there is any ''English' food on the menu, except for the soft drinks.
