Without seeing a menu, this is going to be hard...

Most menus have some sort of vegetarian dish that's steamed or stir fried vegetables and tofu - even though it is stir fried, there shouldn't be not much fat, and the benefits from the tofu outweigh that anyways. Sometimes it comes with a sauce - get that on the side if possible.

Steamed fish is another item you can try.

Soup - hot %26amp; sour is full of veggies and tofu. The vinegar is supposed to be good for your digestion too. However egg drop or wonton shouldn't be too bad for your diet either.

And as everyone else has said, get plain white rice, not fried rice.
Because you refer to it as "take away" as opposed to the American "carry out," I know you are from the UK, and therefore I can't speak authoritatively about what your options are. Reputedly, "Chinese American" food is unique to the USA, and as unhealthy as eating at KFC or McDonalds.

However, a "Buddha's Delight" is usually a vegetarian dish, although there will be salt, MSG and the like, unless you order it without. Frankly, a little salt is good for you.

Years ago, in my little town, we had a Chinese Restaurant that daringly served very ethnic Chinese food: no puppy dog, or nonsense like that, but one could visit the buffet and feast on hot, steamed bean sprouts (try them before making a face), steamed bok choy, and vegetables I never heard of before, but were delicious. But since apparently I was the only person partaking of them, they soon stopped and replaced them with the usual viscous, questionable fare.Is there anything on a chinese take away menu which is healthy?
Anything steamed is obviously good, as is Jum (poached), Chu (broiled), Kow (roasted), Shu (barbecued), lightly stir-fried, dry stir-fried, or braised. Anything breaded, fried, or coated in flour is not.

Order more vegetable dishes or dishes that have a high proportion of vegetables, such as Beef or Chicken with Broccoli.

Order steamed rice. Filling up on steamed rice will mean you eat less of the other dishes. Another reason to eat rice is that it is a complex carbohydrate. Besides being low in calories, complex carbohydrates boost the metabolism.

Stick to Cantonese cuisine if possible. Cantonese dishes tend to be lighter and use fresh ingredients.
Yes. Ask for steamed rice. Ask for steamed vegs with tofu and no salt %26amp; no MSG,

BUT you need to stop eating cheese if you want to be "heart healthy".
Order steamed chicken and mixed vegetables with no MSG.
I don't think there is anything from a chinese takeout that you can eat...it is all pretty much full of salt and fat.
