Are Baking and Roasting Methods Used in Chinese Cuisine?

I've never seen any dishes on the menu that are baked or roasted at Chinese restaurants and wonder if these methods of cooking are used in Chinese cuisine.Are Baking and Roasting Methods Used in Chinese Cuisine?
Oh yes there is..Definitely Roasting and baking is one part of chinese cooking.You have Salted Baked chicken or Roasted chicken.Both are as nice.Roasted meat is a common everyday food in China or Asia.Roasted anything,from Chicken,Duck, waxed Sausages.Roasted Pork known as Char Siew or Siew Yok,one is sweetened and the other one savoury with flabs on it..Siew Yok is roasted crispy pork.Baked,we do have as well,but minimal,but only like bread products.Sorry ia m not so familiar with baked products,but i am very certain there is.Imagine this,China has more than 5000 years of history.What havent thy experimented with?

Wonderful! . Also Roasted ducks %26amp; chickens are sold at Chinese Delis in Cities with large Chinese populations in the USA. Whole roasted pork belly is also available. I have had it all %26amp; it is all very delicious.



In Northern China where wheat is grown, they bake breads.

i am a chinese american. i think chinese cooking at home is mostly stir frys and steaming. breads need to be baked of course, but many go to bakeries for those. i dont think the oven is used too much. i am not sure how a roast duck is roasted, but the ones i see hanging in stores in usa doesnt seem to be cooked in an oven.
Never seen them either. I have learned chinese cooking( Indo - Chinese) but never made any thing that is roasted or baked.I guess the only person who can help you would be a Chinese .
