New laptop with windows xp in chinese how do i change it?

i bought it thinking it was just the language changed and now im in a bind because all the menus are in chinese and even when i asked my chinese friend to change the language to english it still just doesnt do anything...someone please help i fell as if i wsted my money|||:( sorry to say, you don't have any other option but re-install the XP. when installing then select ur language.|||it's ok

click the start menu

you want the control panel which is on the right column (where in english you would see documents, pictures, music, etc. control panel should be the 3rd one up from the bottom. If it is it will be evident. You want the right column. There should be 5 items on the right column and you want the 3rd one down. It looks like a planet with a small clock in front of it and a little down left. Click it. Click the 2nd item, yet another planet with a clock. The first tab is "formats" and the first pull down menu is the language selection. click it and I think you can navigate adequately to find english (the 63rd one down).|||you might wanna do a complete restore of the pc and THEN re-instal it in english? ask your chinese friend to help you wiith that just resotre the pc RE-instal the Operation system!!! should be fairly easy

(sorry for the english)|||Change the display language: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windo鈥?/a>
